Revival of a classic 2D platforming game
Frak! is a premium adventure game developed by Nick Pelling. It is the modern revival of a classic 2D platformer that came out for the Commodore 64 back in the 1980s. It preserves the pixel art style and gameplay of the original while adding new content and features for new and returning players to experience.
Caveman adventures
Frak! revolves around the adventures of the caveman hero Trogg as he navigates various levels filled with danger to look for keys he needs to escape. Along the way, he will have to overcome various platforming challenges and fight various enemies with his trusty yo-yo. Each stage has a time limit, which can be extended by picking up light bulbs scattered throughout.
This version comes with five stages, up from three, and offers new platform mechanics, which affect how you interact with them in various ways. There are also different difficulty levels and Steam achievements. Behind its bright-colored visuals hides a deceptively simple game, with a high difficulty curve that some players might struggle with.
A classic for modern gamers
Whether you're a long-time fan or this is your first foray into the game, the new Frak! offers the definitive experience of one of the classic 2D platformers of decades past. The core gameplay is preserved, and the additional content and features are more than welcome. If you're up to the challenge, give this one a shot.
